in Registration, NTN & STRN by
Hello Dear Sir/Madam,

I'm running an online business from home. It is a clothing startup and my monthly sales are appx Rs. 100K (Barely making any profit as of now). Currently, I am registered with a courier service using NTN number of mine and they are deducting 4% from each parcel. My question is: Should I register myself in Sales Tax (STRN)? Is is compulsory?
My concern is, If I register myself with sales tax and pay additional 18% which would make it almost impossible for me to continue with my business. Please Guide. Thank You!

No, online stores are not required to get registered for STRN if they're not Tier 1 retailers. The 2% GST withheld by the courier will be final for them.
