A person sold an inherited property in January 2025, which he had inherited in January 2021 but declared in his tax return in 2023. For ascertaining the capital gain, will the holding period be counted from June 2023 or January 2021?

For the purpose of calculating capital gains tax, the holding period, for the inherited or gifted property will counted from the date and/or cost as acquired by the deceased or donor as the case maybe.
