Traders Reject Tajir Dost Scheme

Heavy Tax Burden

Traders in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have strongly condemned the government’s Tajir Dost scheme, labeling it as detrimental to businesses. They argue that the imposition of advance income tax, in addition to the existing 10% tax on electricity bills, is an excessive burden.

Government Accused of Extravagance

The business community has accused the government of mismanagement and prioritizing its own spending over the welfare of taxpayers. They have called for drastic cuts in public expenditure and an end to privileges enjoyed by government officials.

Impact on Businesses and Economy

Traders have warned that the increased tax burden is pushing businesses to the brink of closure. They fear that this will lead to widespread unemployment and a decline in economic activity. The negative impact on sectors like real estate and pharmaceuticals has also been highlighted.

Call for Protest

In response to the government’s policies, the traders have threatened to launch province-wide protests if the advance income tax valuation table is not withdrawn. They have vowed to resist any enforcement actions by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
