Islamabad, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman, Rashid Mahmood, has issued a stern warning to tax officials against using undue influence to secure preferred postings.
The FBR has observed a concerning trend of officers exerting pressure for choice assignments, particularly those seeking field positions. Such behavior is considered misconduct under the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1964 and the Civil Servants (E&D) Rules, 2020.
The FBR Chairman has directed heads of field formations to certify that all officers under their jurisdiction have received and acknowledged instructions regarding the prohibition of using extraneous influence for obtaining choice postings. Business Recorder
The FBR aims to address this issue and promote a fair and merit-based system for postings within the organization. By taking a firm stance against such practices, the FBR seeks to maintain integrity and professionalism within its ranks.
