Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for ITP registration, you must:
Have an academic/professional qualification — e.g., a degree in Law, Commerce (with tax/accounting subjects), Business Administration (with tax/accounting subjects), or equivalent recognised professional accounting qualifications.
Complete at least one year of continuous apprenticeship/training under a qualified mentor (e.g., Chartered Accountant, Cost & Management Accountant, Legal Practitioner, or registered ITP with at least 10 years’ experience).
How to Apply for ITP Registration
Prepare & complete the prescribed ITP application form (Part X of the First Schedule under the Income Tax Rules).
Submit your application to the Chief Commissioner — Regional Tax Office (RTO) with required attachments:
CNIC copy
Educational/qualification certificates
Proof of completed apprenticeship experience
Treasury receipt for application fee (e.g., Rs. 500)
Any affidavits/declarations required.
The Chief Commissioner reviews your application and, if satisfied, enters your name into the official register of ITPs.
