A cottage industry in Pakistan is a small-scale business run from the owner’s home. To qualify as a cottage industry, your business must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Operated from the home of the owner.

  • Employ no more than 10 people (including the owner).

  • Annual turnover does not exceed Rs. 10 million.

Registration Process

1. Choose your business structure:

  • Sole Proprietorship (most common for cottage industries) – registered with FBR for NTN.

  • Partnership – registered with Registrar of Firms.

  • Private Limited Company – registered with SECP (optional for small setups).
