My brother sent me money from Canada as a gift. Do I need to pay tax on it or just declare it for record purposes?

If your brother sent you money from Canada as a gift, it is not taxable in Pakistan under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. ✅
However, you must declare it in your annual income tax return under the “foreign remittances/gift” section for record purposes.
No tax will apply as long as it is properly documented through banking channels.
Keep proof such as bank transfer slips for verification by FBR.
