How to Download IESCO Electricity Tax Deduction Certificate in Pakistan

IESCO customers can easily get their electricity tax deduction certificate online or via their July bill. This guide explains the process step by step.

If you receive your electricity through  (IESCO) and are preparing to file your income tax return, you’ll need to obtain your IESCO Tax Deduction Certificate — also known as the Certificate of Collection of Tax. You can get this certificate either by using your July bill or by following the official online process via the PITC Web Bill Portal.

Every year, the July bill issued by IESCO includes a summary of total income tax withheld from July to June of the previous financial year.

To use this method:

  • Look for a section mentioning “Tax Collected”, “Withholding Tax Summary”, or similar.

  1. We live in a rented house and pay bills through my bank account online for a particular IESCO Bills. The bill is in the name of the property owner. Can we claim the tax refunds for that also?

    • Tenants can get the tax deduction certificate with same method as discussed above. Tenant can claim wht on electricity, rent and other transactions as well. However, in case of utility bills in the name of someone else, tenant should have an affidavit with owner on stamp paper that owner will not claim the same taxes in their tax-returns. The affidavit should be kept as record which maybe asked by FBR.

  2. Really useful tip about using the July IESCO bill. One thing to add—if someone’s missing their July bill, it might be worth checking if PITC still keeps older bills online.
