The Sindh government in Pakistan has announced a multi-pronged attack on tax evasion and drug smuggling within the province. The measures were unveiled during a high-level meeting chaired by Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

• Rapid Response Force: The establishment of a dedicated Rapid Response Force within the Excise Department is a central piece of the strategy. This specialized unit will be tasked with conducting operations against tax evaders and drug traffickers.

An event showcasing the premium plates is scheduled for after Eid-ul-Azha, with invitations extended to automobile manufacturers. The department will also invest in new machinery to streamline the production of regular and duplicate number plates.
• Focus on Tax Collection: The Excise Department is committed to achieving its tax targets. To expedite this process, weekend leave for department officials has been suspended until the targets are met. Additionally, a public awareness campaign regarding taxes will be launched through newspaper advertisements.
