How to Make Sales Tax Withheld Challan on IRIS New Payment System?

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has introduced a new IRIS e-Payment system to streamline the process of paying taxes online. This includes the payment of Sales Tax Withheld (STWH). Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make an STW challan using this system:

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Access the IRIS e-Payment Portal:
  2. Enter Taxpayer Information:
    • Enter your valid NTN (National Tax Number) or CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) number.
    • Enter the captcha code.
    • Click “Search” to proceed.
  3. Select Tax Type:
    • From the left-hand menu, select “Withholding” > “Sales Tax Withheld.”
  4. Enter Taxpayer Details:
    • Enter the details of the taxpayer for whom you are making the payment, including their NTN, name, and other relevant information.
    • Amount of Sales Tax Charged and amount which is withheld as Sales Tax Deducted.
    • Mention No. of Invoices.
  5. Provide Payment Details:
    • Enter the total amount of Sales Tax Withheld.
    • Enter the amount against “B-02341 Supplies” or “B-02366 Services”
    • Select the tax year and tax month for which the payment is being made.
  6. Attach Payment File (Optional):
    • If you have a file containing the details of the invoices and tax deducted, you can attach it here.
    • If the number of particulars are more, one can upload an attachment sheet in excel file in prescribed format (format available in the attachment tab).
  7. Review and Submit:
    • Review all the entered information to ensure accuracy.
    • Click the “Submit” button to proceed to the payment gateway.
  8. Make Payment:
    • Select your preferred payment method (e.g., credit card, debit card, internet banking).
    • Enter the required payment details and complete the transaction.

Important Considerations:

  • Accurate Information: Ensure that all information entered is accurate to avoid errors and delays. Always double check the entries.
  • Payment Confirmation: After successful payment, you will receive a payment confirmation slip. Sales Tax Returns can be filed after all the taxes are paid,  and relevant CPRs are selected.
  • Record Keeping: Keep a record of the payment confirmation for future reference.

By following these steps, you can efficiently make Sales Tax Withheld payments through the FBR’s IRIS e-Payment system. Alternatively the old payment option are still valid.
