Lahore, Pakistan: In a significant move to expand its reach, the Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has extended its jurisdiction to Murree, following directives from Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. This expansion marks the fourth district to come under the PRA’s purview, following the establishment of offices in Bahawalpur, Sheikhupura, and Kasur.
The PRA aims to bring 12 additional districts under its umbrella as part of a broader initiative to increase tax compliance across the province. To oversee operations in Murree, Additional Commissioner Marzia Saleem has been appointed.3
The expansion is aimed at bringing unregistered sales tax payers within the tax net. The PRA is actively engaging with taxpayers through meetings and awareness campaigns to encourage compliance.
“This expansion is a crucial step in our efforts to increase revenue resources and strengthen tax administration in Punjab,” said a PRA spokesperson. “We are committed to providing taxpayers with convenient access to our services and ensuring a fair and equitable tax system.”
The PRA plans to further expand its reach by establishing new offices in Attock and Jhelum in the near future. This strategic expansion is expected to contribute significantly to revenue growth and enhance the overall tax administration in the province.
