Lahore, Pakistan: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department is responsible for registering vehicles in the province. The department collects registration fees and issues registration certificates and number plates.

Registration Fees for Cars:

  • Engine capacity up to 1000cc: 1% of the vehicle’s value
  • Engine capacity between 1000cc and 2000cc: 2% of the vehicle’s value
  • Engine capacity exceeding 2000cc: 3% of the vehicle’s value

Example: For a car worth Rs. 2.5 million with an engine capacity between 1000cc and 2000cc, the registration fee would be Rs. 50,000.

It’s important for vehicle owners to retain their registration documents, especially if they plan to sell their vehicles.
