SRB Cracks Down on Tax Evasion in Karachi

Karachi, Pakistan – The Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) has taken stern measures against tax evasion in Karachi, sealing the premises of a restaurant branch in DHA’s Do Darya area and an event management company in Khayaban-e-Bukhari, Phase VI.

Both entities were found to have underreported their sales, leading to significant tax evasion. Despite repeated warnings and notices from the SRB, they failed to file the required tax returns.

Additionally, the restaurant branch did not comply with the SRB’s point-of-sale invoicing system. Business Recorder

The SRB emphasized that these actions were taken due to the consistent non-compliance with the Sindh Sales Tax on Services Act, 2011. The board reiterated its commitment to ensuring tax compliance across all sectors and warned that similar measures would be taken against any service provider found evading taxes.

This crackdown highlights the SRB’s determination to address tax evasion and protect public revenue in Sindh.
