LCCI Condemns FBR Raids and Calls for End to Harassment

Lahore, Pakistan: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has strongly criticized the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) for conducting unannounced raids on industrial units.

The LCCI urged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb to intervene and stop these disruptive practices.

The LCCI President, Mian Abuzar Shad, highlighted that the FBR has been filing FIRs without proper investigations and demanding unreasonable affidavits from CFOs. Express Tribune

These actions have created a fear-mongering environment and hindered businesses’ operations.

Shad emphasized that such tactics are detrimental to the economy and urged the FBR to adopt a more cooperative approach with businesses. The LCCI called for an end to harassment and a focus on creating a conducive business environment.
