Islamabad, Pakistan: To facilitate vehicle owners in the Federal Capital, the Excise & Taxation (E&T) Department has extended operating hours for token tax submissions. Counters will now remain open until 8:00 PM, providing residents with greater convenience ahead of the January 1 deadline for mandatory vehicle token tax payments.
The decision was announced during a recent performance review meeting chaired by Director General (DG) Excise, Irfan Nawaz Memon. The DG emphasized the critical importance of timely payment, warning that severe penalties, including the cancellation of vehicle registrations, will be imposed on defaulters.
The extended hours aim to ensure easier access for vehicle owners to fulfill their tax obligations. Residents with overdue payments are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and clear their dues promptly to avoid penalties or legal action.
It’s worth noting that a recent decision has made it possible to cancel vehicle registrations for non-payment of token tax, highlighting the urgency for compliance. Citizens are urged to settle their taxes without delay to avoid any legal consequences.
