The FTO, through its dedicated efforts and outreach programs, has demonstrated a high level of efficiency in resolving complaints. The Secretariat, along with regional offices, disposed of 12,914 complaints, achieving a resolution rate of 95.6%.

This surge in complaint resolution can be attributed to the FTO’s proactive awareness campaigns conducted throughout the country. The FTO and its advisors engaged with Chambers of Commerce & Industries, Tax Bar Associations, and business communities to disseminate information about the FTO’s role and functions. These efforts significantly contributed to the increased number of complaints received.

Beyond formal complaints, the FTO also addressed 1540 informal complaints and 143 reference cases. Furthermore, the FTO proactively initiated 32 cases on its own motion, providing relief to a large number of taxpayers.

The FTO has been instrumental in providing relief to vulnerable sections of society. Notable examples include providing relief to low-paid employees through proper taxation and assisting folk artists by resolving issues related to withholding taxes. The FTO also played a crucial role in securing tax rebates for teachers in numerous cases.

This significant achievement demonstrates the FTO’s commitment to serving taxpayers and upholding the principles of fair and just tax administration in Pakistan.
