Islamabad, Pakistan: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced that non-filers will face restrictions on purchasing property, vehicles, and opening bank accounts.

The government is taking steps to expand the tax net and ensure that all individuals and businesses contribute their fair share to the economy. Business Recorder

The finance minister stated that the government plans to bring the wholesale sector, distributors, retailers, and real estate into the tax net. Subsidies on wheat and sugarcane will also be reduced gradually.

To increase the number of tax filers, the government has utilized data from NADRA and other sources to identify potential taxpayers. High-income earners will be expected to pay their fair share of taxes.

The government’s efforts to broaden the tax base and ensure tax compliance are aimed at improving the country’s financial stability and reducing the burden on law-abiding taxpayers.
