Islamabad, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a notification updating the criteria for inclusion in the Active Taxpayer List (ATL).
The new criteria allow late filers to be included in the ATL by paying a specified surcharge. This change aims to provide more flexibility for taxpayers and encourage greater participation in the tax system.
The FBR has also clarified the definition of the “latest tax year” and the conditions for including companies and associations of persons in the ATL. Business Recorder
The FBR’s decision to update the ATL criteria is part of its efforts to modernize the tax system and improve compliance. This move is expected to benefit taxpayers and contribute to the overall health of the economy.
