ByIslamabad, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced plans to transform all tax offices into Model Tax Offices (MTOs) to improve efficiency and enhance tax collection.
The transformation will be carried out in four phases, with the first phase focusing on the LTO Karachi and the final phase covering all RTOs. Dawn
The MTOs will feature high-quality staff, specialized auditors, performance-based incentives, technological competence, rigorous performance management, and a dedicated taxpayer facilitation zone.
The FBR aims to hire an additional 1,104 auditors to meet the required number of 1,559 auditors. The MTOs will also have panels of sectoral experts to provide guidance and support to taxpayers.
This transformation is expected to significantly improve the efficiency of tax administration and contribute to increased tax revenue.
