FBR Initiates Power Cut Drive Against Unregistered Taxpayers

Karachi, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has launched a crackdown on unregistered taxpayers by threatening to disconnect their electricity connections.

The FBR has identified 500 individuals and entities operating businesses without proper sales tax registration. These unregistered entities are suspected of evading taxes and violating the Sales Tax Act, 1990. PK Revenue

The FBR has instructed its regional offices to verify the identities of these unregistered taxpayers and take necessary action to enforce tax compliance. The FBR may disconnect the electricity supply of non-compliant taxpayers under Section 14AB of the Sales Tax Act.

This crackdown is part of the FBR’s efforts to broaden the tax base and increase revenue collection. It is a stern warning to businesses and individuals who are not complying with tax laws.
