FBR Establishes Working Groups to Reform Customs Operations

Karachi, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has formed four working groups to undertake reforms in Pakistan Customs.

The working groups will focus on the following areas:

  • Faceless assessment
  • Centralized examination
  • Revamping the clearing agent regime
  • Indus-based anti-smuggling strategy
  • Re-organization of Intelligence and Investigation Customs
  • Re-organization of Customs Enforcement

The working groups will be led by senior FBR officials, including the Chief Collector of Customs KP, Chief (Customs Operations Wing), Chief Tariff and Trade, and the Collector of Customs Enforcement Karachi. Pro Pakistani

The working groups are expected to complete their tasks in addition to their regular duties. All members have been instructed to contact their team leads immediately.

These reforms are aimed at improving the efficiency and effectiveness of Pakistan Customs operations and strengthening the country’s trade facilitation efforts.
