Islamabad, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has delegated key customs powers to the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan to combat smuggling activities in the region.
Through SRO 1508(I)/2024, the FBR has granted the FC the authority to act as customs officers within their jurisdiction, excluding designated customs stations and ports. FBR
The FC is required to exercise due diligence in performing their duties and ensure that legitimate trade is not disrupted. The FC will also be responsible for seizing and storing smuggled goods and submitting monthly reports to the relevant customs enforcement authority.
This collaboration between the FBR and FC Balochistan is aimed at strengthening border security and reducing smuggling, which has a significant impact on Pakistan’s economy.
