Karachi, Pakistan: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially designated a new customs-port at Port Qasim in Karachi, enhancing Pakistan’s import and export clearance facilities. In a recent notification, FBR declared a 10-acre Off-dock Terminal operated by International Cargo Terminals Pakistan (Pvt) Ltd., located within the South Western Industrial Zone of Port Qasim, as a customs-port authorized for processing goods moving through Port Qasim and Karachi Port.
This facility, strategically located to streamline customs clearance operations, will allow the processing of a wide range of imported and exported goods. FBR
The specified limits of the terminal are as follows:
- North: Bordered by Speedy Track Private Warehouse
- South: Facing open space of Port Qasim Authority
- East: Adjacent to Terminal IC3
- West: Bounded by PQA storage area and an access road
The decision to expand customs-port facilities is part of FBR’s broader efforts to bolster trade efficiency and reduce congestion at major seaports, supporting Pakistan’s growing trade activities. This new designation under the Customs Act of 1969 grants the terminal full customs authority, allowing streamlined procedures for imports and exports in line with national and international trade regulations.
