The decision follows suggestions from the business community, including Atif Ikram, President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI). Ikram has been in constant contact with the FBR to advocate for an extension.

The FBR is reportedly considering this option to alleviate the burden on taxpayers and ensure that a maximum number of returns are filed. The News

The FBR has also announced that its offices will remain open on Sunday and Monday to accommodate taxpayers who need to file their returns. Banks and tax offices will be open until 8 PM on Monday to facilitate the filing process.

While there is no official confirmation of the extension, the FBR’s consideration of this option suggests that they are aware of the challenges faced by taxpayers and are taking steps to address their concerns.
