The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued two notifications under the Customs Act, 1969, concerning the New Gwadar International Airport. These notifications outline the formal approval of specific measures related to customs duties, operational zones, and the classification of goods.

Dated December 23, 2024, this notification designates the New Gwadar International Airport as a proper place for customs activities, covering a total area of 34,051 kanals and 17 marlas, as per the Master Plan developed by the Pakistan Airport Aviation Authority. Specific locations within and surrounding the airport are marked for customs operations, including North Darabale, East Zoodni Dam, South Makran Coastal Highway, and West Access Road to North Cant. Notification S.R.O. 2073(I)/2024: Amendment to S.R.O. 101(I)/83
Through this notification, the FBR has amended its previous Notification No. S.R.O. 101(I)/83 dated February 12, 1983, by adding a new serial number (29), explicitly incorporating the New Gwadar International Airport. This ensures the airport is officially recognized under the customs framework for facilitation and regulation of international trade.
These notifications reinforce the FBR’s commitment to streamlining customs operations and enabling efficient handling of import and export activities at the strategically significant Gwadar port, supporting Pakistan’s economic development and global trade connectivity.
