Court Dismisses Petition Seeking Relief for Mistaken NTN Posting

Lahore, Pakistan – An Additional District & Sessions Judge in Lahore has dismissed a petition seeking relief for a mistaken NTN number posting in a sales tax return.

Zafar Iqbal Bhatti, the petitioner, claimed that Dr. Riaz had fraudulently used his NTN number to report transactions worth Rs1913315.00. Bhatti argued that he had never dealt with the company or visited Ferozpur Road, Lahore. Business Recorder

However, the court found that the respondent company had likely made an unintentional error or omission in posting the NTN number. The court also ruled that the petition was not maintainable under Section 22-A of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The court’s decision highlights the importance of verifying the accuracy of NTN numbers and reporting any errors or discrepancies to the relevant authorities.
