Key Appointments Made in FBR’s Customs Department

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued Notification No. 3326-C-I/2024, detailing the transfers and postings of various officers in the Pakistan Customs Service (BS-17 to BS-19). These changes are effective immediately, according to the official document released on December 23, 2024.

Significant movements include Mr. Farid Ahmed Khan Salarzai, who has been reassigned as Chief (OPS), Transformation Delivery Unit (TDU), FBR Headquarters, Islamabad. Additional responsibilities have been assigned to some officers, enhancing their portfolios. For instance, Mr. Muhammad Raza now holds the position of Secretary (Faceless Assessment), while Mr. Waqas Nawaz takes on the role of Secretary (Anti-Smuggling Interventions and Performance Management), both within the TDU framework.

Other notable postings involve Mr. Ali Asad, who assumes the role of Second Secretary (Cargo Tracking System), and Ms. Tanya Khan Mohmand, promoted to Second Secretary (Digital Enforcement Station HR). Furthermore, several deputy collector positions across various customs houses and directorates have been filled to strengthen operational capacity.

The FBR has also abrogated prior transfer orders for certain officers, as referenced in Notification No. 3025-C-I/2024. Officers drawing performance allowances before this notification are directed to continue claiming these at their new postings.

The notification emphasizes that all transferred officers must promptly report their relinquishment or assumption of charge to ensure a smooth transition and record-keeping.
